Working Out At Home Can Be Boring

by Julia on April 18, 2010

Let’s face it with the best will in the world working out can be boring.  Not only boring but hard work.  Some people actually enjoy working out but if I’m honest I don’t.

I work out to keep fit and prevent myself from putting on weight.  I enjoy my workouts best when they’re done and I’m in a shower feeling virtuous that another workout is behind me.

So although I believe that you can work out at home with no equipment using just your body weight I do purchase functional and inexpensive pieces of equipment that not only make my workouts more effective but more importantly prevent me from getting bored.

I like to vary my workouts and the equipment used during my workouts.  I then get the best of both worlds.  I prevent the dreaded plateau and keep my workouts interesting.

The type of exercise equipment I like best is functional very easy to use and most important inexpensive.  Complicated exercise gadgets annoy me because you spend so much time setting them up getting the right settings that your workouts take a lot longer.

I like to keep my workouts as short as possible I prefer high-intensity training or just get it done training.  To that end my favourite pieces of exercise equipment would have to be the Iron Gym and The Kettleworx..  They meet all my requirements using this exercise equipment I can get myself a complete workout.  Strength, cardio, stretching and power with equipment costing less than $100.

Remember it’s not the cost of the equipment that matters it is that you actually use it on a regular basis.  So forget complicated and expensive toys you might see on the television and stick to the equipment that will actually get the job done efficiently and in as short a time as possible.
