The KettleWorx Reviews

KettleworxThe Hype

KettleWorkX is a complete fitness programme built around exercises using Kettlebells.  First developed in Russia and till recently the territory of huge grunting muscle builders, the kettlebell – basically a metal weight with a handle – has now been tailored for the general fitness market.

The infomercial promises you’ll melt away the pounds and tone a perfect, sculpted body in just 3 20 minute programmes a week and transform your body in six short weeks so that you look good naked. Hmmm! Weird selling point or what?
Suitable for both men and women, the programme combines cardio and toning exercises to burn fat and tone lean, sexy muscle.  The cost of the package is $89.95 (plus S&H) and for this you get 10 different DVDs plus a 5lb Kettlebell.

The Pros

There’s a lot to be said for KettleWorX.  For your money you get a great selection of workouts including cardio, toning and core to sculpt your whole body; each workout lasting just 20 minutes, plus various workouts focusing on specific parts of the body such as Legs & Thighs and Butt & Hips.  Plus, you get a nice, shiny, brightly-coloured 5lb kettlebell.

The Cons

I haven’t really heard any Cons; the only grumble I have noted is that the kettlebell included with the basic package only weighs 5lb – this is not enough of a weight for most people to get good results with. It’s an ok starting weight if you’ve not exercised before or are very out of condition, but you’d get accustomed to it and need a heavier one pretty soon.  Your package is easily upgraded to include a 10 or 20lb kettlebell, but this of course costs more.  Also, bear in mind you will be swinging this weight around, which could be dangerous if you lose your grip.

To Buy or Not To Buy?

I’d say a resounding yes to this.  Even upgrading to a 10lb kettlebell (a good starting point for most women in good health) this is a good value exercise regime that will provide a first-class work out and you should see results within six weeks, although probably not as spectacular as they make out!  There is a learning curve of course as some of the DVDs go quite fast, but they are all well presented and easy to follow, although for pity’s sake be careful when you are swinging your kettlebell; if you let it go in mid-swing it will either smash a window or give the dog concussion!

My Verdict: Unbeatable for this price. No gimmicks, nothing to go wrong, no wheels or gears and dead easy to store. Just don’t drop it on your foot!

Ok, we bought it and I think it is a good purchase keeping a few things in mind:
1.) get heavier weights, 5 lbs is almost worthless for men and women
2.) do every other day at least and on off days do soemthing else like serious bike ride, jogging, etc.
3.) eat better
It is a good program since easy to use, store and plenty of variety in the routines. The short time length means if you have some discipline you can easily do this workout every other day sicne no time driving to gym, finding parking, etc.
Bottom line: if you have the discipline to get in shape, this is a good piece of the plan.

Thumbs up! This workout is practical and effective. I feel it is a total body work out with core strength. I like the segmentation of the exercises. Also, he leads the viewer through with ease. It has been the most effective exercise I have done in a few years!!

I recieved mine this morning, and just done my first workout, brilliant, I couldn’t do all of it never mind 2 sets, so cant wait to progress, it will definitely take me more than six weeks to do I’m sure. Legs don’t feel like they belong to me. Make sure you keep a tight grip on the kettlebell, you don’t want it to drop on your toes or flying through the window.

I’ve been training with Kettle Bells, Battling Ropes and Crossfit for the past two years and absolutely love the brief and brutal intensity that they bring; without the high joint impact and pain that I experienced from years of power and traditional weight lifting. I recommend these to anyone looking to change up their traditional workouts. Try this 6 week program and you may not want to go back to traditional weight lifting. For the money this product was also a great way to introduce kettle bells to my wife and learn some new movements myself. She is loving the workouts without the need of a gym.

Really disappointed in this workout. Videos are repetitive, form is bad (knees extending past the toes for several exercises), number of reps for right and left sides are uneven and insufficient. There also are not enough body part specific exercises on the workouts geared to that body part. And yes, the 5 lb. kettleball is pretty light unless you are a couch potato. And I have tried this at the age of 47.

Really enjoy the program. Great stress reliever and energizer for the day. I’ve upped my kettlebell to 10 lbs as the 5 was too light.
5 stars. Value for the money, I bought mine off of a 2nd hand website, dvd’s & the bell for nearly half price.
5 stars for easy to use
5 stars for overall rating.

I just finished my 6 week regimen. Awesome results. Before Kettleworx, I did a lot of kickboxing and what I could handle of Insanity but noticed I wanted more toning without too much pain. Adding Kettleworx to my routine did the trick. On the off days, I jogged or kick-boxed for an hour but rested on the weekend. I promised a friend my set once done but I’ve changed my mind. I’m getting the 15lb bell and starting it back up from week one.

I ordered it after watching one early morning. :-)
Good to see some positive notes about it! I just started this morning with the cardio dvd. For now the 5lb bell is just enough ( recoving from swollen joint on left wrist) It’s been 6months and I still do wear arm brace every now and then and will use during the excercises. Will do 30mins to an hour on ski machine on alternate days (Tues/Thurs).

Judging by the energy I have felt all day today, I know I will see some great results over the months. I’ll be 53 in mid-October and really need to get off the couch and back to exercises. I’m 205 lbs. Hope to see great progress in watching the lbs and inches melt away by the New Year. :-)

I have just done my first week of KW…I really like it since I am always trying tofind workouts that combine cardio and weights. I like high intensity exercises too because i dont like to spend hours a day for less results. Yes the DVD has flaws, but I bought a nother KW DVD from Dragondoor, different instructor, different exercises but the editing was the same–cut and paste. Yes that part kinda sux becasue you hear the same comments over and over, rather than the instructor doing 20 minutes of each routine…saves him time and energy..lol…seems to be the new trend.

But overall ienjoy the exercises, I am starting with a 10 pound kellebell and the workouts are challenging..I will do the 6 weeks, then graduate to a heavier kettlebell and start over..The onlydraw back is kettle bells are expensive but if you buy different KB workouts with dfferent instructors, you will find that they may challenge you with , say, the 10 pound kettlebell///The secret to weightloss and getting in shape is tokeep your muscles guessing..Muscle memory reaps less benefits. On non KB worrkout days, I do longer cardio seesions–running, the elliptical, rowing and swimming. To keep from getting bored I do pilates, some yoga. Variety is the key.
