The Hype
Enthusiastically advertised as the way to turn that spare tyre around your middle into rocket-hard abs, not forgetting the Flexmaster attachment (costing more, of course), that can help turn your Ab Rocket into a sort of Pilates machine for a full-body workout.
The hype burbles on, telling you that if you want sizzling hot abs and bikini-ready results, you should try the Ab Rocket for easy, effective crunches to get your body into the best shape of your life. Heady stuff – I was exhausted just reading it! The infomercial includes the usual shots of ripped guys and stunning girls in teeny-weeny bikinis. You know what I mean
The unique selling point of the Ab Rocket is to get you up off the floor and into a perfect position for doing crunches without hurting your back, and the padded rollers of the backrest are meant to give you a soothing massage at the same time. For your money you get the Ab Rocket machine, 4 fat-busting DVD workouts, variable resistance springs and the usual low-calorie meal planner. A 30 day risk-free trial is offered and you get all this for $99.99.
So does it work? Can you Rocket your way to perfect abs with this machine? Read on and find out!
Pros
Does indeed get you up off the floor and into a supported position to work your abs; very good if you have back/neck problems or don’t know how to do situps properly. A number of users began to see reductions in their waistline within around three weeks. The Ab Rocket is convenient to use and is portable, and the Flexmaster attachment gives a reasonable Pilates-style workout. And how many other exercise machines can you get for under $100?
Cons
Yet again, poor customer service and misguiding free-trial information caused the worst complaints about the Ab Rocket. The quality of the machine is just about acceptable, but some users grumbled that the resistance is not strong enough and the machine can be quite uncomfortable to use. And the back massage seems to be nonexistent!
To buy or not to buy?
For $100, the Ab Rocket is reasonable value for money and will indeed do what it says on the tin – strengthen your abs while supporting your back. But that is all it will do; you can spot tone your abs till you’re blue in the face, but this machine will not help you reduce the fat covering them. You need to do other exercise as well.

My Verdict: Providing you are just looking for an abs and obliques workout, the Ab Rocket will work for you. The best way to use it is as part of a varied workout program, combined with healthy eating and other types of exercise.
Yes old school push ups are very effective for burning up weight. At very first they can seem daunting but you’ll progress fast while you master your own weight before moving on to more advanced chest presses like the bench press.
Any reduction in waist size is due to diet and exercise for larger muscle groups which will use body fat for energy. It may increase your abs strength, but there are less expensive ways to achieve more core strength. If you think you are going to get 6 pack abs, then you will need to reduce your body fat to the 10% or lower range.
Heey everyone. I want the Ab Rocket very badly. Please tell me what you think I should do.
Thanks
Do not buy the Ab Rocket Twister from the online people or the TV people. I ordered the upgraded model, but they sent the cheap one and then the package came with an extra $27.04 in shipping charges COD. When I called to get a refund the pathetic person I first talked to would not help me and when I asked to talk to someone who will help me she transferred me to a useless recorded message. Find a workout store that has one of the good models or will order one for you to try before you buy. DO NOT BUY FROM THE ONLINE STORE THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!
Very, very poor customer service. Does not support the neck, its just like bending up and down.
not made for tall people. and im only 5’8 and its very uncomfortable for me to use. also money back not true. if u dont like it u have to pay for it to go back which leaves u at no money back. what a scam. but that is the policy. maybe they should not say at no cost to u return it for a full refund. lame dont buy unless u r less then 5 feet tall
it is more expensive than the original and its the same . wow just because the seat twists
This product provides hardly any resistance and is not worth it. I am trying to send it back, yet I have called customer service 10 times and all circuits are busy, have left 2 messages and have not had a return phone call. Funny how they answer the phone so quickly when you are ordering one! I will send it back and register a complaint with the better business bureau and anyone else I can think of.
I was tempted to by but after reading the many negative reviews on this and other websites I have decided against it. I will jut stick with my ab roller that I have been using for 15 years.
Online store does NOT offer free shipping; Quality of product is very poor; It’s not made for overweight people. The seat is very small. Back massage is NONEXISTENT; Resistance and neck support is minimal; It does make it a little easier for people with neck/back injuries to work on abs. I’ve used it for 2 days and have a feeling I will want to return it by the 30 day trial…I’ve heard it’s not really 100% money back guarantee.
